Principal Investigator
I completed my PhD in the lab of Dr. Hilary Ashe at the University of Manchester, England. My thesis investigated the differentiation of Drosophila germline stem cells, where I discovered my passion for awkward and repetitive dissections. I undertook my postdoctoral research with Dr. Iswar Hariharan at the University of California, Berkeley, studying tissue regeneration. I started my lab at ASU in 2018, and currently teach Tissue Regeneration and Stem Cell Biology (BIO 494/598), General Genetics (BIO 340) and the MCB graduate program seminar series (MCB 501/701). I can usually be found hanging around my labs distracting my grad students, or in Starbucks. I also enjoy running, walking my lab/collie mix and going to the pub.
Technician
I am the Harris lab's research technician. I received my undergraduate education from ASU, and I hope to apply to PhD programs in the not too distant future. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing music, and spending time outside (when the weather permits).
Graduate Student (Candidate)
I am a Biology Ph.D. Student focusing on Genetics. My research is targeted towards understanding the mechanisms behind regeneration of Drosophila and why they lose the ability to regenerate as they age. We are specifically studying how epigenetics plays a role in gene silencing and the function of novel damage activated enhancers and their role in regeneration. When I am not in the lab I love to go hiking with my dog and on the weekends play pool with friends.
Graduate Student (Candidate)
I am a PhD student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at ASU. My research is targeted towards understanding how tissues respond to necrosis to regenerate . In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, and watching movies. I am originally from Wisconsin, and look forward to seeing all that ASU and the Phoenix area have to offer.
Graduate Student (Candidate)
My research aims to understand the role of immune signaling in regenerating imaginal wing disc. Additionally, I’m studying an uncharacterized protein that has been implicated in the regenerative process. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, exploring the desert and making 3D biological models: www.3d-biology.com.

As a Graduate Student, Jordan is responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of projects and experiments. Jordan works closely with advisors and colleagues to advance their knowledge and skills in their field of study. With their passion for learning and drive for excellence, Jordan consistently produces high-quality work and adds value to our team.
Graduate Student
Hello! I’m a PhD student in the MCB program here at ASU. I received my BS from Cleveland State University with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology. I’m fascinated by the processes involved with going from a single cell to a complex multicellular organism. I hope to learn more about these processes in the context of regeneration which shares many similarities with normal development. I enjoy outdoor activities in my spare time, including hiking, biking, and just walking around the city.
